Car wash grand opening features FREE washes
Lansing – Burnham Car Wash reopened this week after
being closed for over two years. Lansing Mayor Dan Podgorski and village
officials attended the grand reopening last Friday at 18604 S. Burnham
Ave, across from Thornton Fractional South High School. The grand opening
features a week of FREE car washes from December 10th through
16th. "Think of it as an early Christmas present," said
Ron Baader, owner of the Burnham Car Wash. "It’s a great way for me to
introduce Burnham Car Wash to the neighborhood."
The Burnham Car Wash opening represents a major
redevelopment success for the Village of Lansing, which has provided tax
breaks to this project. "We are pleased to see this redevelopment happen
so quickly," said Mayor Podgorski. "This property has been transformed
from an eyesore to an attractive and productive part of the community," he
added. In addition to external improvements like new landscaping, fencing,
and pavement, Burnham Car Wash has also been transformed on the inside.
"Most all of the washing equipment has been replaced or upgraded," said
Baader. "People will especially like the new drying process that combines
new blower equipment with hand drying."
Car wash prices range from $5.99-$9.99 with a variety of
discounts available. "We have already started running $1.00 off coupons in
the newspaper and at the grocery store," said Baader. "In addition, you
get a free car wash for every five car washes you purchase." Baader also
promised more events in the future. "We plan on running school and
community fundraisers in the spring," he said.
Burnham Car Wash is also extending its incentives to
municipal and company fleets. It will service the Lansing Police and is in
discussions with several local fleet owners.
The Burnham Car wash currently employs 10 but is still
hiring. "Winter is our busy season, so we are still looking for some good
workers with positive attitudes," said Baader.
The car wash is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday
through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
